The first day of the ALA show in Boston was a mixture of positives and negatives. On the positive side there was definitely an increase in foot traffic/attendees over last year. On the negative, it wasn’t on our side of the hall. If you haven’t been to the show, the exhibit hall is divided into two sides separated by a long hallway. If you are located on the upper aisles, you are in somewhat of a no-man’s land. A number of clients mentioned to me that when they found our booth, they did not even know that side of the hall existed.
When I mentioned this to the ALA, they did promise to post some signs, make announcements and try to drive traffic to the other side of the hall. I’ll let you know if it works out.
