Welcome to the Spring 2021 Mattern Matters

Welcome to the Spring 2021 Mattern Matters 2021-08-05T16:36:09+00:00

Hi, my name is Rob Mattern and welcome to the Spring, 2021 edition of Mattern Matters, the newsletter of Mattern.

At the writing of the fall newsletter editorial at the end of 2020, I along with everyone else, was hoping that 2021 was going to be an improvement over 2020—which, admittedly, was a low bar to put into place.  Well, I’m pleased to say it seems like things are looking up – the vaccine is being rolled out, places are opening, travel is picking up, etc. There is still a lot of work to be done, but we are getting there, and for that we extend our gratitude.

On the Mattern front, things are certainly happening.

  • Our newest white paper, “How to Handle Records for Your Digital Transformation” authored by Mattern Consultants Ben Schmidt, JD, and Nathan Curtis, IGP, has been an overwhelming success.  Numerous people have told me that it is the finest piece they have read on laying out a blueprint on migrating to a “paperless” office.  Great job Ben and Nathan!

  • Our newest Consultant, Kyle Reese, MBA, IGP, is profiled in this issue.  Kyle is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt with over 14 years of experience developing leading solutions supporting all aspects of law firms’ back and middle office and administrative services. Kyle is focused on driving efficiencies in these areas through the Mattern Method and assisting law firms with navigating through the outsourcing process.  Welcome to the Team Kyle!

  • Mattern LIVE! Coffee Breaks are proving as popular as ever.  On April 14th, we hosted Best Best & Krieger to talk about their Administrative Teaming, a unique and innovative way to offer administrative services to their attorneys.  If you are interested, please reach out and we can send you a podcast of the conversation.  Our next Coffee Break will be held May 19 and will focus on our very successful white paper, “How to Handle Records for a Successful Digital Transformation.”  Be on the lookout for announcements coming out soon.

  • We highlight several case studies in this issue – one on offsite records where we assisted Wood Rogers address a difficult off-site records storage problem at no cost to the firm, and a second featuring Pierce Atwood where we assisted the firm improve their renewal with their incumbent provider of outsourcing services.

As always, if you are a current client, thank you very much for the opportunity to work with you. If you are not a client, the next time you have an issue in your office/administrative services or records/information governance, keep us in mind.

Take care and be safe,

Rob Mattern
