Columbus, Ohio– January 19, 2015– Legal support services consulting firm Mattern & Associates, LLC (matternassoc.com) will be presenting at the ALA Columbus January chapter meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, January 20th at law firm, Barnes & Thornburg on “Strategic Expense Management and Successful Cost Recovery in Today’s Legal Market.” President of Mattern & Associates, Rob Mattern, will deliver a dynamic discussion on concrete strategies which optimize the law firm back office both operationally and financially as well as significantly improve cost recoveries.
Rob’s executive workshop will explore how firms can further reduce their back-office expenses while improving services to attorney end-users by taking advantage of the changing legal market landscape. Rob will address whether cost recovery is a key component of strategic expense management and, if so, what today’s successful cost recovery strategies look like.
A portion of the discussion will incorporate the results of the 2014 Mattern & Associates Cost Recovery Survey. The Cost Recovery Survey is a bi-annual survey by Mattern & Associates, first conducted in 2004 and featured in the Wall Street Journal in 2012, and is an industry-recognized and trusted source for law firms to compare their performance in the recovery of costs to that of their peers in multiple areas. During the discussion, Rob will illustrate how to use the Survey data to structure law firms’ operations to maximize recovery.
Rob Mattern says, “We’re honored to have been selected as a speaker for the ALA Columbus Chapter event. I will be focusing on delivering strategies to law industry leaders which optimize the current market, greatly improve their back office operations, and capture substantial savings for the firm’s bottom line—the triple win. It requires outside-of-the-box thinking and we’re pleased to take that lead on this dynamic discussion.”
